Yosemite Lodge Master Plan & Camp 4 Expansion

Yosemite Lodge Master Plan & Camp 4 Expansion, NPS/Yosemite National Park: JNRA was hired to perform a site analysis of Yosemite Lodge; develop three master plan alternatives including the expansion of Camp 4; and complete a plan for a transit hub with an arrival plaza with comfort station. The Plan for Yosemite Lodge thoughtfully re-envisions this sacred place as an important destination. It resolves current multi-modal transportation conflicts by creating separate systems for pedestrians, cyclists, personally owned vehicles, RVs and transit, while maintaining existing parking. Existing uses such as: overnight lodging, dining and retail facilities; inter-Valley and intra-Valley public transit and comfort stations; and maintenance facilities are seamlessly integrated.

In addition to the Lodge Master Plan, JNRA is the Landscape Architect for the expanded Camp 4 campground, which will include new campsites, a new comfort station with showers, a common group pavilion, and relocated registration building all outside the rock fall hazard zone. Conceptual estimates range from 14.5-17M for the lodge and transit hub, and 1.5M for Camp 4. Client contact: Bill Rust and Brad Lewis, Yosemite National Park.
