Hanson Ranch

Re-imagining high maintenance turf grassland, horse stables, and a man-made stock pond as a native grassland meadow with a naturalistic pond, stream, and wetland habitat transformed this Northern Californian locale. The combination of open water in the pond for wildlife and recreation, perimeter freshwater marsh habitat for water filtration, a re-circulating stream to aerate the water and control runoff, restored native grassy meadows complete this thoughtfully designed natural ecological system. This project was a coordinated effort shared by Ecological Engineer, Alex Horne and Resource specialist, David Amme.
