Sequoia & King Canyon Foothills Visitor Center at Ash Mountain

JNRA was hired to design a schematic master plan for the Foothills Visitor Center at Ash Mountain. New visitor amenities include an amphitheater and shelter accommodating 15-20 people for smaller events and tours; a smaller gathering area accommodating 10-15 people in front of the Visitor Center within an existing native plant garden; infrastructure and furnishings that complement the Mission 66 architectural style; an Outdoor Classroom accommodating 30-50 people for larger occasions with California native plant demonstration gardens along an interpretive trail and formalized picnic shelters; as well as a trail connection to an Overlook with interpretive opportunities above the Kaweah River.
