Addison Street Arts District and Berkeley Poetry Walk

“Slow Street” improvements and widened sidewalks with paving art, embedded poetry, pedestrian lighting, and street trees support downtown Arts District theaters, window galleries, and arts-related uses. The project, designed by JNRA in collaboration with many members of the community, in combination with development of the arts venues in the District, has been a major catalyst in the economic and cultural revitalization of Downtown Berkeley, with numerous spinoff construction projects throughout the core area.
