New Place and Eucalyptus Island

Hillsborough, CA

STREET MEDIAN/PARK

This 5,000-square-foot traffic island in the heart of the Town of Hillsborough has been reconceived as a small passive park, serving as a garden forecourt to the North Hillsborough School and the Burlingame Country Club. Completed in 2011, this grid of Akebono cherry trees with flowering groundcover beds, crushed-stone pathways, and benches, creates a colorful pedestrian sanctuary.

A project of the Hillsborough Beautification Foundation (HBF).
